The Treadmill of Life

Its main conveyor belt is continuously traveling towards the Exit Sign. As an analogy to an article I read yesterday, I will call this conveyor a treadmill.
[An exercise device consisting of an endless belt on which a person can walk or jog without changing place.}
The story depicts a conveyor belt that carries you through life. On either side of the belt are doors, portals - harboring gifts, disappointments, lessons...etc.
You can always stay on the treadmill - do your miles - or step off and see what life has to offer.
Just remember some folk's Exit Signs are a lot closer than others.
