Running Hot
I'm really not acclimated to running with sun rays beaming directly on my body. Welcome to the first day of summer! It just sapped the energy right out of me. Luckily I had Steve’s new podrunner mix, “paradiddle” with that jungle beat to bring me home.
Thankful notes:
It wasn’t really that hot out and the breezes were delicious.
To pick strawberries from my garden for breakfast.

I am never too fond of hot weather. I feel its harder to get acclimated to hot weather than cold weather. Let's look at this way, only a couple more months and it will be a cool fall.
Hot weather does have a way of sucking the life out of you. You get psyched to run and then as you begin..WHAM you can actually see the life as it floats away in the thick hot muggy weather.
Ah...Summer Heat.
The only way I've found to avoid that energy-sucking summer heat is to run early in the mornings. It's almost always cool and you can run to the music of the morning birds!
There was an excellent article in Masters Athlete magazine this month on nutrition and especially for vegetarians. You might want to read it.
Good run. Just do it now on hills LOL.
