Scandia 10K Report

As usual, my fears were unfounded. I completed the 10k race with exuberance! No headache or nausea.
And trimmed 13 minutes off the last 10K time!

Running this course was like going back in time - to a slower era. It followed quiet country roads framed with homesteads, cherry orchards and flaxen crops. Plus the most wonderful field of mint. It must have just been cut as the scent was overpowering – energizing – sensational!

PS. Thanks again to everyone who motivated me to keep up with racing. Today... there is no other joy.

Congratulations!! I think a disappointing race makes the next good one that much better.

The mint field sounds wonderful!

Just to clarify - this race was not a PR per se.
I performed so poorly in the last 10k that this one was a marvel...

Thanks again :0

BTW
My all time 10k PR is 47:07

I am so glad to hear that this latest race for you was a positive experience. And that does sound like a beautiful course. I can't wait until I do the half-marathon on the Maine Coast. It's just gorgeous. Sometimes your surroundings can do more for your motivation than anything else, can't they?

Back in the game!

Great race, great courage-- it is downright scary coming back to the same thing your body remembers didn't go well last time.

But you did it. Hope the good feeling sticks around for awhile longer.

Way to go! Glad to see you are still racing! :D

Is the Scandia 10K a part of the Scandinavian festival?

@makita

It just goes to show future effort is not always determined by one bad race. The overpowering smell of mint would give me a boost too. So glad to hear all went so wonderfully well.
