Holiday Runners
For all those runners entered in a Thanksgiving Day Fun Run:
- Do your best while having fun.
- Try and be present with each step.
- And totally immerse yourself.
"I pluck chrysanthemums under the eastern hedge,
Then gaze afar towards the southern hills.
The mountain air is fresh at the dusk of day;
The flying birds in flocks return.
In these things there lies a deep meaning;
I want to tell it, but have forgotten the words."
- Tao Yuan Ming

Hi Kara,
Right back at you! I volunteered at registration for the race I am running today, and another lady told me that as she runs up the huge hill (I mean, it's ridiculously long), she turns around and just marvels at the sheer number of people running. There are likely to be 7-8000 people running tomorrow, either a 5K or 5-mile race.
Sometimes when I run outside on my own, or during a race, and I see something beautiful, or just plain interesting, I try to make a mental note of it, and then what usually comes to mind is, "Kara would be proud of me right now for noticing that!"
Happy Thanksgiving!
I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
